Investigation the Physical and Rheological Properties of Bitumen Modified with Warm Mix Asphalt Additive

Bituminous binders constitute 4-7% of the flexible pavements by weight play an important role on structural and functional performance pavements. Traditional hot mix asphalt (HMA) production is done at 150-190 °C that results high-energy usage, smoke odor emission therefore significant cost loss environmental damage. Increasing awareness has questioned whether HMA can be produced lower temperatures. Consequently, warm (WMA) cold applications were developed as alternatives. WMA researched within scope using organic, chemical additives or foaming methods. generally application based reduction viscosity bitumen. The aim was to modify base bitumen adding additive called Sasobit, most widely used product in world, ranging from 1% 5% investigate changes physical rheological properties In this research, penetration, softening flash point, tests applied, thermal sensitivity analysed, short-term aging from, which required high-temperature grade bitumen, investigated dynamic shear rheometer. Eventually, Sasobit modification significantly changed all studied except point.
